And just as with all things touching and heartwarming, I'm depicting how it can all go horribly wrong.
One possible fate is that she dies of old age while he remains due to the gene-seed.
Another is that heretics discover his love and the identity of his lover, deciding to use her as leverage to leave him vulnerable so that they could kill him and her both, or just her, making his efforts to save her in vain. Either way, they wind up in eternal agony, as death brings no comfort in 40k for humans nor astartes.
Another possibility is that she catches the fancy of an imperial Inquisitor, who isn't deterred by the fact she has such relations with a space marine, and takes her and ravages her body. Either he saves her this time, but it's too late and she's pregnant with a rape baby, or the inquisitor gets into an "If I can't have her no one can" attitude and kills her.
My mind for some reason likes to befall misfortune upon nice things.
